What To Expect
Our Full Fast program is designed to maximize weight loss, with patients losing up to 40+ pounds on average.

Meal Replacement
You will start the Meal Replacement portion of the program the day of the physical. During this time, you will consume 800 calories per day and 1 to 2 nutrition snacks. You will take 5 supplements a day. Supplement flavors are chocolate, vanilla and strawberry in either a liquid or powder form and we now have a high-protein powder version as well. All of these supplements, in concert with snacks bars we offer, will meet 100% of the daily requirements for vitamins and minerals.
You will attend clinic on a weekly basis, seeing the doctor or nurse practitioner every week, and have labs drawn during the first 12 weeks of the program. Group sessions are held by a Behaviorist, dietitian, and an Exercise Trainer on a rotating basis. These sessions are mandatory. A record of your attendance is kept in your charts for the doctors to review. You may stay on the Meal Replacement portion of the diet for up to 12 weeks, depending on your program choice.
Transition
When you have completed the Meal Replacement part of the program, you will then go to Transition. At that time, you will meet every week with our dietitian. You will see the doctor or nurse practitioner every other week. Over the next 6 weeks you will be weaned from the supplements and slowly begin adding food back to your diet to build your metabolism. Transition is a key part of the program.
Maintenance Phase 1
This phase of the Optifast program follows Transition, and lasts for 16 weeks. You will come in to be weighed and to attend group. At week 12 you’ll meet with the dietitian again to see how your progressing.
Maintenance Phase 2
This is the final phase of the program. You should choose a convenient day and be sure to weigh yourself on the same day each week. And, of course, you’re always welcome to stop in for group or other needs.
We’re looking for a 5-pound weight gain at this stage. Should you have this gain, you need to get back into group and get back on track. As you know, keeping the weight off is the hardest part of any program. Because obesity as a chronic disease, our program recognizes the need for continuous management.
Once you complete our program you are a lifetime member and may come to weekly group whenever you feel the need! Our program goal is to get the weight off and KEEP it off.
